The cafe at sunset, on the way to XIX Bar for Gregg Feistman's booksigning.
Champagne to toast the author.

Books displayed next to XIX's fireplace, the perfect setting for a cold winter's night.

Gregg Feistman's thriller The War Merchants is set in Philadelphia and mentions XIX.

One of the first guests to arrive at the signing was Jenny Mercedes, a student of Feistman's at Temple University now working at PREIT.

This afternoon at 5 PM author Gregg Feistman will be at XIX at The Bellevue signing copies of his first book, The War Merchants. There will be a champagne toast to herald the book's publication. This event is free and open to the public.
Gregg Feistman is an assistant professor of public relations in the Strategic and Organizational Communications Department at Temple University's School of Communications and Theater.
The War Merchants casts as its heroine and hero a Philadelphia public relations executive and a business reporter who strive to expose a sinister plot to control the world's economy.
Best of all, XIX has a mention!

The Sporting Club celebrated its 21st Anniversary on Thursday, January 21. Guests from around the city gathered together to drink, dance, and dine for a good cause: Students Run Philly Style.
Here are a few pre-party photos: A red carpet ushered guests into the champagne bar in the main lobby.

The basketball court was transformed into a hip, chic party space by Beautiful Blooms.

The aerobics studio was made over into the VIP lounge.

21 of the prized blue Tiffany & Co. boxes, filled with $2,100 worth of prizes, were offered as raffle prizes.

And here are some from the party: Guests were treated to appearances by Governor Ed Rendell, new Philadelphia DA Seth Williams, PREIT Vice-Chairman George Rubin, and two student speakers, Anthony Whittington and Melanie Fullard, from Students Run Philly Style.

CTO Entertainment kept guests grooving all night on the dance floor.

More than $10,000 was raised for Students Run Philly Style.

I just plugged The Bellevue's address into Walk Score and just as I suspected, the walking around here is great! We scored a "Walker's Paradise"!

We're working on some publicity shots in the Food Court with Gary Mattie today. I'll be posting the fruits of his labor later in the week.

Lots of business gets conducted throughout The Bellevue but one of the best-kept secrets may be the Food Court. Job interviews, team meetings, simple get-togethers, legal signings and networking over a slice of pizza happen here throughout the week. Below Laura Horwitz of the Philadelphia Research Initiative and Tom Ferrick Jr. of Metropolis, a newly launched political website focused on Philadelphia, grab a cup of coffee from Amazon in the morning before the crowds hit.
